Terms of Use
Last updated 1 November 2026
These Terms are the agreement between you and Cuel for using the Cuel app and website. By using Cuel, you agree to them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.
Who these terms are with
Cuel ("we", "us") provides the Cuel app for iPhone and iPad and the website at cuel.app. This agreement is between you and Cuel. It is not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for Cuel or its content.
Who can use Cuel
You must be at least 16, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Cuel only with the consent of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms for you.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for what happens under it. Tell us at support@cuel.app if you think your account has been compromised.
Using Cuel
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Cuel on Apple devices you own or control, for your own learning. You may not resell, rent, copy, or reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows, or misuse the service.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you capture and create in Cuel. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, transmit, and display your content only to operate Cuel for you, including sending the relevant parts to our AI and transcription providers to return results to you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies we must keep by law or that remain briefly in backups.
You are responsible for what you capture. You confirm you have the rights to it, and you agree not to capture anything unlawful, infringing, or containing other people's personal or confidential information without their permission.
AI-generated material
Cuel uses AI to interpret your input and generate learning material. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, biased, or out of date. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting what Cuel creates before you rely on it, and we do not guarantee that any item will be accurate or that using Cuel will produce any particular result.
Cuel is a learning aid. Its content is for personal, informational use only and is not professional advice of any kind, including medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice. Do not treat it as a substitute for a qualified professional.
Acceptable use
Do not use Cuel to break the law or infringe others' rights, to upload malware or try to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service, to scrape or extract data systematically, or to share your account credentials. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Subscriptions and payments
Cuel is free to download and includes a limited free allowance. Cuel Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks continued capture and creation. The price, billing period, and any free trial are shown before you buy and are handled by Apple through your App Store account.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel anytime in your Apple account settings, and because Apple processes the payment, refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
Third-party services
Cuel relies on services from Apple and from our AI and infrastructure providers, and your use of Cuel may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
Our intellectual property
Cuel, including the app, the website, our name and logo, and the software and models behind the service, belongs to us or our licensors. These Terms do not give you any rights in them beyond using Cuel as allowed here.
Availability and disclaimers
We work to keep Cuel available and reliable, but we provide it "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows, and we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any rights you have as a consumer under the laws of your country that cannot be limited by agreement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, for lost content or data, or for any loss arising from AI-generated material you relied on without checking it. Where we are found liable, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for Cuel in the twelve months before the claim.
None of these limits apply to liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your mandatory rights as a consumer.
Your responsibility to us
If someone brings a claim against us because you used Cuel unlawfully, deliberately or through serious fault broke these Terms, or infringed someone else's rights, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result. This does not apply to ordinary, good-faith use of Cuel.
Suspension and ending your use
You can stop using Cuel and delete your account at any time from inside the app. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or where we must to comply with the law. When your account is deleted, we remove your content as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as Cuel changes. When changes are material, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you and give you the chance to stop using Cuel if you do not accept them. Continuing to use Cuel after changes take effect means you accept them, where the law allows.
Your rights and where you can bring claims
Cuel is offered to people around the world. Wherever you are, you keep the mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms overrides them. You may bring claims in the courts of your own country where the law allows, and we will not require you, as a consumer, to give up those rights or to use binding arbitration.
App Store terms
Where you get Cuel from the Apple App Store, the following also apply: this agreement is between you and Cuel, not Apple, and we alone are responsible for Cuel and its support; Apple has no obligation to provide support for Cuel; if Cuel fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, and to the extent the law allows Apple has no other warranty obligation; we, not Apple, are responsible for any claims relating to Cuel, including product liability, legal or regulatory claims, and intellectual property claims; you confirm you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or on a restricted-party list; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
General
If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Cuel. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we do not lose it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours as long as your rights stay protected.
